Towards the end of the 90’s, I got interested in the Mo’ Wax label from England. For a while, it was fairly easy to find Mo’ Wax titles around town, but they started drying up about 1998 or so. Not active after 2002?

I guess one of the reasons that I got so interested was because I knew that When Toshio Nakanishi was in England, his stuff was turning up on Mo’ Wax. And The Mo’ Wax samplers “Headz” were awesome!

After Mo’ Wax, I followed Toshio Nakanishi to Pussyfoot Records – again, in England.

So, I just kept adding to my Mo’ Wax collection as I found ‘em. Haven’t been any additions lately, come to think of it. I never found an inexpensive copy of Luke Vibert “Big Soup”. And I do have Japanese versions of some titles that Toshio Nakanishi was involved with.

The Mo’ Wax label favorites were Luke Vibert, Major Force West (Toshio Nakanishi), Peshay, Howie B., and the Innerzone Orchestra.

Many of the UK Mo’ Wax CD’s were packaged beautifully, too – some with intricate die-cuts (such as Liquid Liquid). I’ve also found variant packagings for the Headz series.
