Check 'em out! Please let me know how you think it looks. Also - I don't want the set to get all that much bigger - what should I add? Yes, a few things are obvious: more Beatles, more Zappa etc.
These CD covers represent as much of my Music Life as I can guess. Icons, if you will. Which ones do you love? Which ones do you dislike? Which ones do you not know?
I found the book by Sir Horace Gentleman, the bassist of The Specials last weekend, in Los Angeles (at Book Soup, actually). I read it in about 3 sittings, a really engaging read, for me. I bought a heap of that stuff, when it was originally released. I don't think I ever saw The Specials, but I definitely saw Madness. I take a look at the Wikipedia article on The Specials - and it says that a number of them have re-formed, at present. Interesting.
The book mentions Rico Rodriguez, rather a lot (as he played and toured with said Specials). I found his CD "Man From Waireka" when I visited Japan last year. Great instrumental dub reggae. I remember thinking, when I got one of the 2-Tone 2CD collections, "This stuff is better than I remembered it!"

I recently lucked into a 1st edition (1971, 2000 copies) 'Black Sparrow' Charles Bukowski book, "Post Office". I read it again over the last two nights. It's a very amusing book. It's rather difficult to find out about rare books; one auction site has it listed for $400 - $700. It's not a hard-cover, it's not signed - it's merely a 1st edition. The typesetting looks 'different' from the later editions, to me.
Anybody know anything about the possible sale of a 'rare' book? Rare phonograph records, I know about! But, books?
